Malaria is caused by parasites known as plasmodium. Malaria usually causes a high fever, cold and flu-like symptoms, which, if untreated at the right time, can be life-threatening.
To diagnose and confirm malaria blood test is done. Treatment of malaria involves prescribing drugs to kill the parasite. Treatment duration and patient recovery depend on the age, type of malaria parasite detected in blood, the severity of symptoms, and whether the patient is pregnant.
