Covid 19, or sars cov2, or novel coronavirus, is the current ongoing pandemic which was unprecedented.

This is an extremely contagious infection. Spread by droplets and contact ( fomites) , former being much more common than later. As the entire world is susceptible to this infection and no herd immunity, preventing acquisition of illness by universal masking and social distancing is crucial.

Covid patients presents with flu like illness. Early recognition is key to isolate and limit spread of disease. Once infected, most have mild infection, but 20 % cases require oxygen support.

Most people have complications in second week and hence Its important to observe patients for 2 to 3 weeks after fever onset.
